Service and Repair Technician 

  • La Vergne, TN.
  • $15.00 an hour
  • Temp to Hire: This is a way for clients and talent to test the waters. It allows potential employees to prove themselves to the company and see if the culture is a good fit. Likewise, it allows the client to test the candidate for a certain period of time. During the contract period, the talent is employed by Wood Personnel Services

Wood Personnel Services in partnership with a manufacturing facility in La Vergne, TN is now hiring for a Service and Repair Technician. This is temp-to-hire role is responsible for the repair of mechanical and electronic sewing machines. The Service and Repair Technician plays a key role in product diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical and electrical products in the Repair department.

Compensation and Hours for Service and Repair Technician:  

  • $15.00 an hour
  • 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Monday – Friday
  • Overtime and weekends required depending on the needs of the business.

Requirements of Service and Repair Technician:   

  • Stable and progressive work history
  • High School Diploma. Vocational Technical Training a plus
  • Experience with hand tools
  • Familiarity using Microsoft Office products
  • Exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects is expected
  • The ability to have close visual acuity to perform technical repairs

Responsibilities of Service and Repair Technician:

  • Inspects and determines repair requirements of sewing machines, if appropriate request additional estimates, replaces defective parts, process paperwork, and return product to consumer
  • Evaluate and repair returned merchandise, recondition sewing machines to saleable condition, and repackage for resale as a repack or blemish machine; diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic products
  • Test mechanical and electrical products to ensure consumer satisfaction and compliance with the factory specifications
  • Identifying product quality issues
  • Provide technical phone support to retail customers and/or dealers on machine repair issues
